Isambard was the industrial noise project of brothers Keeby and Lawrence later of Poltergroom and Cleckhuddersfax. Keeby was living in London and Lawrence was still in Leeds when they started this project around 2003. It was very well received within the burgeoning Wire-reading noise scene but at the time a little wild for the average riff-loving dunderhead, meaning that the short UK and Euro tour betwen Isambard and Kill Yourself was a funny experience. Isambard's sense of humour and non-macho approach to 'noise' made them a much more engaging experience than the majority of 'outer limits' acts that were to increase in number in the DIY underground scene over the following years.
